Lions Chat - mIRC Client Program

The first time you start mIRC, it will pop up a dialogue box asking for various information. [screenshot].

Fill in a nickname and alternative (this will be used if your nickname is aleady taken). We recommend that you only put your first name in the Full Name, enter me@me.me as your e-mail address, and ensure the Invisible mode box is checked. These steps help to protect your privacy.

Select Servers in the Category panel to the left of the dialogue box [screenshot]
Select Blitzed from the drop-down list
Click Connect To Server to close the dialogue box and connect

Once mIRC has connected to the server, a dialogue box will appear to allow you to choose a channel (chat room) to join. The Lions OOC channel will not be in the list, so enter #LionsOOC in the box at the top, and click Join [screenshot].
You will now be in the Lions OOC channel [screenshot].

Auto-Join #LionsOOC

mIRC can be configured to automatically join #LionsOOC when it is started. To set this up, follow these steps (thanks to Edain for this)

From the mIRC Options menu select 'options' from the nav bar on the left (just under 'servers')
Hit the 'perform' button from the list on the right [screenshot]
Check the box at the top that says 'Enable perform on connect [screenshot]
Type /join #LionsOOC in the text box at the bottom
Hit the 'Add' button next to the drop down menu
Scroll down till you find Blitzed (it's an alphabetical list)
Select Blitzed by clicking on it then hit 'Ok'
You should be back in the Perform Menu and the drop down menu should now say 'Blitzed'
Hit Okay
You should be back in the mIRC Options menu
Connect as normal (sometimes a programme restart is needed to effect the change)
