Re: New Werewolf Game

I figured as much, so I will most likely get eaten tonight regardless!

A vote to lynch me for no other reason than I voted for you Dessie? At least I had reasonable theory behind mine. My vote must have flustered you at least a little since thus far your poems have been pretty good however Spaff and Half don't rhyme!

Since I didn't expect to last this long and only figured on having a day or two left anyway I might as well do my best to help the remaining villagers put an end to the wolves.

We have had many surprises this last few days discovering a secret alchemist in our midst and I have to reveal she and the wolves are not the only members of our village with secret lives. I am in fact a Seer and have the ability to look into the very soul of people to reveal their inner most feelings and truths. I have discovered to my disgust that Dessie is a Werewolf!!

You may think of me as stupid for revealing myself now, but since time is short and I now anticipate my death tonight I feel helping you villagers is more important than just my life. The last wolf will no doubt have their revenge for Dessie on me tonight. Don't let my death be in vain you must catch the last wolf, here are my opinions so far.

The remaining villagers ...

Spaff, myself a Seer.
Tyrell, I had not had much suspicion of thus far.
Jack, Although a Red Cap I had no real reason to distrust him either.
Michael, Voted for Tig on a gut feeling along with Eric and was right. I couldn't imagine him throwing a pack mate up for lynching to cover himself up so early on.
Kurt, As I said he voted for Eric as well on the day Eric was eaten by the wolves. I might be wrong but my suspicions lead me to believe he was backing up the vote of his pack mate.
Alrisha, I had planned to view tonight but I don't think I will have time before the last remaining wolf comes for me!
and finally Dessie, who is a werewolf and must be lynched tonight!

Good luck! So please all Lynch Dessie

I thank you both for trusting me!

As far as suspicions go though Kurt if someone had made an accusing theory against me I would at least make some attempt to defend myself rather than just commenting how "voting to lynch Dessie seems like an attempt to save yourself" based on my theory alone. That just adds to my suspicions more to be honest, I don't know about anyone else.

That is irrelavent Kurt as I am sure now I have admitted to being the Seer the remaining wolf will eat me tonight whether I was lying or not, the wolf cannot afford to risk me finding out who they are and so either way I have secured my death tonight.

You however have yet again avoided the point and have failed to attempt to defend yourself thus further adding to suspicion by being aversive.

I am not sure what to makeof everyone else being so quiet at such a tense ad important time however I have accepted my time on this Spiral is up so I am ready for the next!

It matters not any more Kurt I have helped the villagers catch one more of the wolves and so whether my suspicions about you are right or not I very much doubt I will be alive tomorrow to argue further.

I apologise in advance if I am wrong about you Kurt but I cannot help but be suspicious since as I said you voted alongside Dessie as if to back him up and if someone accused me I would be straight in to defend myself!

*Continues to drink, while offering the bottle*
Would anyone like some? With my death approaching I am going to be too drunk to feel it or hungover yet alive in the morning!

The seer you say, I do not think
I am so lowly as to sink
Into you words, your web of lies
Upon the morn, one of us dies.

Sticks and stones may break my bones,
But I still know you're a Werewolf!

You say one of us will die Dessie but no doubt now it will be us both! The others have trusted in my truth and so you sir will be lynched this night. Due to that and with admitting my abilities I'm sure your one remaining pack mate will hunt me out

The vote this time is anything but close as the villagers almost unanimously choose to end the life of their rhymer. Another quaint feature of this rustic village is destroyed as Dessie's hands are bound behond his back and he is escorted to the tree where his potential packmate Tig still hangs.

The wind begins to pick up as the sun begins to fall, casting a chill through the gathered crowd. Spaff swigs deeply from his bottle, convinced that in signing Dessie's death warrent he has also signed his own. Kurt watches with dark eyes, taciturn as ever. Jack bounces slightly on his heels, either through cold or anticipation of a good meal, who can tell? Alrisha, Tyrell and Michael stand silent largely keeping their own council.

There is a brief discussion/argument about whether Dessie should be allowed some last words or not and finally it is decided that they've had enough poetry and so the lynching continues without a sonnet. While not many people are entirely surprised when Dessie changes into his were form and proves Spaff right, the sight of this mild, if not quiet, former ally now growling and snarling to his last breath does rather unnerve people.

Spaff's second prediction also comes true and the next day the surviving villagers find themselves standing around his shredded corpse. The door has been battered down, splintered and destroyed. His legs are still by his table, one remaining on the chair where he was clearly sitting before the attack, his body is considerably less neatly arranged. Even a cursory glance around his house proves that he was telling the truth about being a seer - crystal balls, tarot cards, rune sticks, candles, cloth and mirrors. Oddly, there are playing cards lying out across the table: blood splattered and scattered, but clearly a part of Spaff's final attempt to look into someone's soul - Alrisha's, if his words the day before were to be believed. Sadly, he never passed on the tricks of his trade and no one else knows how to use them. You are without guidance now.

Given the date, next round will end midnight on boxing day.

Still stunned by the events of the night before and without the guidance of the Seer, the villagers decide to default to inaction and no one speaks of lynching tonight. They go to their beds to sleep soundly and put aside the actions of the previous day.

That is, all but one does. There is howling in the night, and Michael bravely grits his teeth, picks up his sword, and goes to investigate. The sound is coming from Kurt's house and muttering a prayer to his ancestor Michael pushes open the battered door and charges in to the rescue.

Kurt had been sleeping in his chair with one eye open and was ready for the monster. He is battling against a lone werewolf, attempting to fend off the creature with a candlestick - it seems to be silvered, but it's not the greatest of weapons and Kurt is getting the worse of the battle. Michael's entrance distracts the creature for a second and Kurt dives for his crossbow, firing off a frantic shot as the monster's head snaps back and its jaws clamp down on Kurt's arm, splintering through bone and sending his shot wild. The bolt ricochets off the wall and straight into Michael's chest, pinning him to the doorframe and spurting crimson blood across the monster's fur.

By the time the sun rises and help arrives, both men lay dead, the hunter and his would-be rescuer. A trail of bloody paw prints spite that their attacker left the scene, but fade into the mud before they can be meaningfully tracked. The three survivors look uneasily amongst each other, knowing that tonight this ends, one way or the other.

That's both Alans out in an unfortunate (or fortunate, for one player) mis-guess by the hunter. The final round will end at midnight, Saturday 28th.

Since I've chased all surviving characters and it seems only one person is currently interested in continuing, I'm going to extend the deadline until midnight on the 30th since that works best for Joe, and wrap it up then so other people can get a game.

The villagers remain impassive, almost hypnotised in their lack of ability to fight their doom. They go quietly to their beds, again deciding not to even discuss the killer in their midst. It is all too easy for the remaining pack member to murder first Alrisha and then Jack as they sleep, leaving Tyrell alone to see in Hogmanay in the now-abandoned village.

Soon the rain will stop, and the new year will bring fresh blood.

OOC: I guess Christmas put a bit of a dampner on this, but thanks everyone for playing.
